Tennis stars Iga Świątek and Roger Federer are donating half of their net worth to a newly established global sports foundation aimed at providing underprivileged youth with access to sports facilities, training, and education. This groundbreaking initiative seeks to harness the power of sports to inspire and empower young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, by giving them opportunities to develop their talents and skills.

Świątek and Federer, both known for their philanthropic efforts, have decided to pool their resources to create a lasting impact on the global sports community. Federer’s net worth, accumulated over his illustrious career with numerous Grand Slam titles and endorsement deals, combined with Świątek’s rising earnings as a young tennis prodigy, forms a substantial fund dedicated to this noble cause.

The foundation, named the Global Sports for Youth Foundation, will focus on building and renovating sports facilities in underdeveloped regions, providing scholarships to young athletes, and organizing training camps and educational programs. The aim is to create a supportive environment where children can thrive and pursue their dreams in sports, regardless of their socio-economic status.

Federer, a long-time advocate for education and sports, expressed his excitement about the initiative: “I believe in the transformative power of sports. By giving young people access to proper training and facilities, we can help them achieve their full potential.”

Świątek, inspired by Federer’s legacy and driven by her own experiences, added: “Sports have given me so much in life, and I want to give back. This foundation will be a beacon of hope for many young athletes around the world.”

The Global Sports for Youth Foundation is set to launch next year, with its first projects already in the planning stages. This collaboration between two tennis greats underscores their commitment to making a positive difference beyond the tennis court.
