Justin Simmons, a three-time All-Pro safety, is included in a trade between the Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos.

The defense of the Green Bay Packers has had ups and downs so far in 2023.
On one possession, they limited the Bears and Saints to 20 and 18 points, respectively.
Some fans are sceptical, though, given the Atlanta Falcons’ impressive fourth quarter and the fact that their offense amassed more than 450 yards under the direction of Desmond Ritter.

One trade that involves the Denver Broncos and the Packers has been mentioned as having a significant positive impact on the defense going forward.

According to Sayre Bedinger of Fansided, this trade might go as follows:.

One of the positions on the Packers’ roster that could probably use an upgrade is safety, as we’ve discussed before.

Can there ever be too many players who can take the football away?

Having superstars on the back end who can capitalize and create turnovers is absolutely essential given the Packers’ defensive front’s ability to take control of games, and Justin Simmons has been one of the best turnover-creating players over the last 6-7 years.

Unfortunately for him, the Broncos’ lackluster performance has kept his fame relatively under wraps.

You have to wonder if, at some point, the Broncos will “do right” by Justin Simmons and deal him to a contending team; in 2023, the Packers most certainly will.
The question will then be, “How many more games will we see Simmons play as a member of the Broncos?” Simmons is currently sidelined due to injury, but he will eventually return healthy.

His base salary for this season was $14.4 million, but he missed Week 3 due to a hip injury.
Given his age (30) and high salary, Simmons might be difficult to move, but he remains one of the league’s top safeties when healthy.

Additionally, the apparent “youth move” the Packers decided to make this offseason would be contradicted by this trade. This type of trade seems to be one the Packers only make if they feel like they are in a “win-now” mode by the October 31st trade deadline.
