Fans are eager to see action start at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, so F1 stars are expected to abandon their season’s tour of Europe when they land in Singapore this week.
While it will be challenging for Sergio Perez to unseat dominant Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen, he will be hoping to repeat his incredible victory from a year ago.
Perez passed Charles Leclerc on the first lap of the Singapore Grand Prix, which he later won, despite the race being plagued by heavy rain and numerous safety cars.
Despite his poor track record in Singapore, Verstappen is currently on a barnstorming streak of 10 straight race victories, a new F1 record.
The door may be open for the Dutchman’s rivals this time around because he has only been able to place third twice.
