It’s no secret that the Green Bay Packers have had significant defensive difficulties this year.
Defense coordinator Joe Barry has taken a lot of heat for allegedly lacking the necessary skills for the job.
Fans have been pleading with the front office to fire the veteran coach as soon as possible because of this.
Joe Barry, the Green Bay Packers’ DC, comments.
Barry is not hiding the fact that the team’s defense needs a lot of improvement. After all, the fact that they’ve given up 76 points in their last three games, two of which ended in defeats, is a glaring indication of the same.
Barry stated on the team website, “That’s something I’ve definitely gone back and looked at over the last 72 hours.”.
“We had a little time.
There isn’t a single thing that you can pick out after looking back at all four games. I just went back this morning and watched every one of the 42 runs from Thursday night, and not one of them is the problem.
On this play, it’s one thing, and on this play, it’s another thing.
Having played exceptionally well, you have 30 runs.
There are many factors involved, but we must and will fix them.
We are currently investigating everything.
We have to put our foot down and stop it when we’re in one of those games.
Thursday night, it was obviously not good enough.

Barry was alluding to the Detroit Lions’ humiliating loss to them on Thursday.
In the first half alone, Green Bay’s opponents scored 27 points thanks to their defense.
This was clearly insufficient, as the DC stated.
Joe Barry continues to have faith in his skills.
Barry is unconcerned despite the difficulties the defense has faced lately. The 53-year-old coach is sure that his team has what it takes to make things right in the future. Barry is adamant that he still has what it takes to do the job.

You do need to be able to do something structurally, just from a system standpoint, when you’re in the type of game like that.
We are able to and will do so.
We have to act in those circumstances, Barry continued.
“Since every game is unique, those are all things we’re currently working through.
You won’t have to defend 40 runs in every game, but when you do, you’ve got to be prepared.
My responsibility is to provide our players with a response, and we will do so going forward.
But over the coming weeks, it will be interesting to see if Barry’s enthusiasm will be shared by the front office, the supporters, and the players.
