Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Kurt Benkert, in a bold prediction, speculated on the Packers securing victories in their remaining six games of the season.
Taking to social media on Thanksgiving Day, Benkert outlined the matchups and expressed optimism about the Packers finishing strong:
“Hold up … do the Packers win out? Week 13 vs KC (winnable); Week 14 @ NYG (will win); Week 15 vs TB (should win); Week 16 @ CAR (will win); Week 17 @ MIN (should win); Week 18 vs CHI (will win).” – Kurt Benkert
If this optimistic forecast were to materialize, Green Bay would conclude the 2023 season with eight consecutive wins, achieving an 11-6 record and likely securing a playoff spot after narrowly missing it last year.
While recognizing the rarity of eight-game winning streaks in the NFL, Benkert drew attention to the Minnesota Vikings’ five-game winning streak earlier in the season. The Packers’ offense has shown signs of resurgence in recent games, averaging 26 points per outing in the past two.
Quarterback Jordan Love has notably regained his early-season form, posting impressive stats in the last two victories. Love’s performance has contributed to the Packers’ increased chances of making the playoffs, with their odds rising from less than 10% to over 44%, according to ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI).
Despite FPI projecting a more cautious outlook for Green Bay’s remaining games, Benkert’s optimism aligns with the team’s growing confidence and improved performance, making a late-season winning streak a compelling possibility.
