Colorado football hasn’t started offensive tackle Savion Washington in three weeks, with the graduate sidelined by injury. Ahead of a big road game against UCLA this Saturday, Colorado can get Washington back into its groove offensively.
Head coach Deion Sanders said Washington practiced Tuesday and was one of the toughest players he has ever coached.
“He looks good.” I don’t know if he made it through the whole training process, but he did what we set out to do,” Sanders said via Adam Munsterteiger. “This kid is tough… mentally, physically… he’s a guy. a future expert. He’s one of the kids I really like. I love his story and what he means to us. I can’t wait to see him again. This helps us a lot.
Washington missed two games in which Colorado led 1-1. The Buffaloes dominated Arizona State 27-24 before jumping out to a 29-0 halftime lead against Stanford in an overtime loss on Oct. 13.
Colorado took time off last week to reflect on the game Lose a little longer and prepare for a grueling final five games, including three road games and three against current top 25 opponents.
Deion Sanders and his team will need all the help they can get to try to make a bowl appearance, something Colorado football has failed to do in an entire season since 2016. Bringing back Savion Washington to help defend Shedeur Sanders would be huge for the Buffaloes.
