Deion Sanders and Colorado football are heading into the new 2023 season despite recent losses.
Sanders signed Colorado’s coach last season to revive what was one of the worst Power Five programs in the country last season.
This season has been largely a success for Sanders as the Buffaloes have come out of the gate with some impressive wins before coming back down to earth in the last few games.
Sanders knows that for Colorado football to become a true national power, the team must continue to improve in the recruiting game, starting with the most important position on the field: quarterback.
Sanders recently detailed the need for big quarterbacks and how that is a common thread among elite teams across the country.
“Well, defense is everything.
You watch college football.
If you look at back-to-back quarterbacks, you can see the consistency of their records.
Look at the Pac-12.
Look at the quarterback. All the teams that have the most wins and have been together the longest.” Sanders said, according to On3’s Wade Peary.
Admittedly, Colorado’s quarterback is pretty good right now.

But with the younger Sanders likely staying in college for up to a year before taking his talents to the NFL, the older Sanders hit the recruiting trail to find his next prospect.
