In an interview with NBC News this week, Hunter’s mother-in-law Carolyn Cliett provided some details regarding her son Hunter’s passing.

Hunter passed away earlier this week at the age of 42.
He attended Ohio University for four years of college basketball, with his senior year (2002–2003) seeing him lead the NCAA in rebounds.
After being selected in the second round of the 2003 NBA Draft, Hunter played two seasons in the league, first with the Boston Celtics and then with the Orlando Magic.

Hunter eventually went on to play professionally overseas for almost ten years, with official stats during his career of 6-foot-7 and 266 pounds. Hunter entered the real estate, sports agent, and coaching industries after his playing career came to an end. He is survived by his wife Mary and their three kids.
