Deion Sanders, the head coach of Colorado, might have suffered his second consecutive defeat last weekend when USC held on to defeat the Buffaloes 48-41, but he and his team are still garnering attention.
According to USA Today, USC football fan and rapper Snoop Dogg called Sanders to speak with Colorado freshman wide receiver Omarion Miller, who had a breakout game against the Trojans, catching seven passes for 196 yards and a touchdown in the second half.
Sanders, a first-year college student at Colorado, spoke with the rapper before giving Miller the phone so he could call the 17-time Grammy nominee.
Apparently, this friend “wanted to let him know that he has a tremendous gift,” according to Sanders.

Sanders claims that when Miller picked up the phone to see Snoop Dogg on Facetime, he was astounded and shocked.
Miller told reporters in Boulder on Wednesday, “That whole thing was crazy.
“Was just telling me, you know, to keep working,” said Snoop Dogg. He approved of my work.

The rapper goes by Calvin Broadus Jr. is not the first famous person Sanders has had around his team.
Before a game against in-state rival Colorado State earlier this season, which was attended by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, rappers Master P and Offset, and former Dallas Cowboys receiver Micheal Irvin, rapper Lil Wayne escorted the Buffaloes out of practice.
As a coach at the HBCU Jackson State University, Sanders followed the same practice.
Sanders, a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, has played in eight Pro Bowls, six All-Pro games, won two Super Bowls, and was named the defensive player of the year in 1994.
Colorado, who is currently 2-2 on the year, will play against the Arizona State Sun Devils, who are currently 1-4, on Saturday.
