During his debut with the New York Jets last week, Greg Kelly, a well-known conspiracy theorist and outspoken supporter of former President Donald Trump, made the statement in reference to the recent tear of Aaron Rodger’s achilles tendon.

“A competitive quarterback can’t be all happy and silly all the time, and something happened to this guy, and I think I know what it was: drugs,” the commenter said.
Kelly specifically referred to Rodgers’ acknowledged use of ayahuasca, a psychoactive plant that produces vivid hallucinations and visions.

That Kelly’s accusations are completely without merit should go without saying. I believe we can be reasonably certain that the 39-year-old quarterback tore his Achilles tendon while playing on wet astroturf and wasn’t killed by a vengeful God angry about his plant-based diet.
Although it’s unclear how conservatives will react to Kelly’s remarks, a large portion of the jokes made in response to Rodgers’ injury focused on his conspiracy theories about the COVID-19 vaccine.
