Trevon Diggs, a cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys, is reportedly being examined after hurting his leg during practice on Thursday.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the 25-year-old was seen leaving the practice field on crutches afterward and will soon have an MRI on his knee.
Dak Prescott, the quarterback, told reporters on Thursday, “Some of you saw him leaving the field so prayers for him; simple as that.”.
A five-year, $97 million contract extension between Diggs and the Cowboys is said to have been reached in July.
It was designed so that he would remain in Dallas through the 2028 season and could be worth up to $104 million.
In the Cowboys’ Week 2 victory over the New York Jets, he made his first career interception.
He is anticipated to play a significant part in a defense that has only given up 10 points in the first two games.
The team is awaiting information on the health of half of that cornerback duo, Stephon Gilmore and Diggs, who they believe are poised to become the best in the NFL.
