On Thursday Night, the Detroit Lions humiliated the Green Bay Packers, 34-20. The game reminded the Packers that they might not be as close to being an NFC North contender as they initially believed.
The Lions offense was completely unstoppable by the Packers defense to begin the contest.
At halftime, the Lions had a 27-3 lead.
The Packers’ offensive struggles also didn’t help the team, and now it’s being said that one of their starters was wearing a walking boot after the defeat.
According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky:.
Guard Jon Runyan was wearing a walking boot today, just to add to the offensive line problems the Packers already have. He claimed to have a sprained left ankle, but it is not a high-ankle sprain, giving him hope that he will be able to play against the Raiders one week from Monday.
Runyan’s difficulties, particularly in pass protection, could have been influenced by the injury.
Pro Football Focus claims that Runyan allowed five pressures and a sack.
Additionally, he was subject to one punishment.
Runyan is in a good position to rejoin the team due to the Packers’ extended break before Week 5.
Since the Packers’ matchup with the Raiders isn’t until Monday, Oct.
9, he has more than a week to get his ankle back into playing shape.
The Packers gave the Lions a total of 22 pressures, but their offensive line was without the starting left tackle (Bakhtiari) and left guard (Jenkins).
Both right tackle Zach Tom and right guard Runyan were absent.
If the Packers’ passing game is to succeed this year, the offensive line must keep Jordan Love upright.
