The Minnesota Vikings have secured their offensive line with the most recent signing.

Posted on September 18, 2023

Guard Dalton Risner, a veteran of the NFL, has agreed to a new deal. The Kansas State graduate played for the Denver Broncos in 2022.

The Minnesota Vikings have a new contract with offensive guard Dalton Risner, a veteran of the NFL.
Former second-round pick Risner played for the Denver Broncos for the duration of his professional career.

Despite all the preseason hype, the 2022 Denver Broncos failed to meet their high standards in Russell Wilson’s first season with the team. Dalton Risner, however, still managed to have a strong season at guard despite the disappointing record.
The left guard finished the season with a 61.1 overall PFF grade, good for 42nd out of 78 eligible players.
He started and played in 15 games.

As a second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Dalton Risner initially made his NFL debut.
The Kansas State product, who was selected by the Denver Broncos, started every game as a rookie and quickly secured the starting left guard position.
Risner fulfilled his obligation to safeguard Joe Flacco, Drew Lock, and Brandon Allen as agreed, but the Broncos had a disappointing 7-9 record at the end of the year.

In 2020, Risner made a comeback to the starting lineup and remained the team’s best left guard option for all 16 games.
However, the Denver Broncos did not advance while Risner did.
Drew Lock received the keys after being selected in the second round, and he immediately drove the team off a cliff, finishing 5-11 in yet another wasted season.

Risner was only able to play in 15 out of a possible 17 games in 2021 due to injuries, but when he was on the field, he was the starting left guard.
Risner had a good season in 2021, but his Broncos once again missed the playoffs despite having the quarterback tandem of Teddy Bridgewater and Lock.

Dalton Risner has started 62 of the 66 games that he has been eligible for since signing his rookie contract.
In his four-year career, he hasn’t, however, made it to the postseason.
