King, who is only 28 years old, has a lot to offer other teams.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports that veteran cornerback Desmond King has been informed by the Pittsburgh Steelers that he will either be traded or released.

King, who was cut by the Houston Texans on August, signed a contract with the Steelers just before the season. 28 as a component of the last set of preseason cuts.

King has only played in three of the Steelers’ five games this season, mostly in kick returner roles.

According to a source, the Steelers told veteran CB Desmond King that they would be releasing him if they were unable to come to an agreement on a trade.

In his 98 career games, King has made 53 starts. An experienced nickel is on hand.

It’s been interesting to watch King in Pittsburgh and wonder why the Steelers don’t give him more playing time after he started 25 of the 33 games in which he appeared during his previous two seasons in Houston.
It’s obvious that something isn’t working, so both parties would benefit from a split.

After a brilliant career at Iowa where he won the Jim Thorpe Award in 2015, King was first selected by the Los Angeles Chargers in the draft.
In his second season in the league, he was selected to the first team as a defensive back and the second team as a punt returner.

King, who is only 28 years old, is expected to have no shortage of suitors.
Leading teams constantly seek to bolster their rosters as the season progresses, particularly in the secondary and on special teams.
