Spirit Airlines has unveiled a significant overhaul of its fare structure, introducing four new bundled options designed to offer passengers greater flexibility and value. This change marks a shift from the airline’s traditional à la carte pricing model to a more inclusive approach.
New Fare Bundles:
1. Go: The most basic option, providing a seat and personal item, with additional services like bags and seat selection available for purchase.
2. Go Savvy: Includes one carry-on or checked bag and standard seat selection.
3. Go Comfy: Offers a carry-on and checked bag, seat selection with a blocked middle seat, priority boarding, and complimentary snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.
4. Go Big: The premium package featuring Spirit’s Big Front Seat, both carry-on and checked bags, priority check-in and boarding, free Wi-Fi, and complimentary snacks and alcoholic beverages.
Boarding and Check-In Enhancements:
Starting August 27, Spirit is implementing a five-group boarding process to streamline operations. Priority boarding is granted to Go Big and Go Comfy passengers, Free Spirit Gold and Silver members, Free Spirit World Elite Mastercard holders, and active-duty U.S. service members with their families. Additionally, priority check-in will be available at over 20 airports for Go Big passengers and eligible loyalty program members.
Change and Cancellation Policies:
While Spirit had previously eliminated change and cancellation fees, these have been reinstated for the basic Go fares purchased after February 5, 2025. Fees range from $59 to $99, depending on the proximity to the departure date. However, Go Savvy, Go Comfy, and Go Big fares remain exempt from these fees, offering more flexibility to travelers.
