Patrick Mahomes has been slammed by several social media users after his wife, Brittany Mahomes, dedicated a heartfelt Instagram post to him on Thursday.
Brittany Mahomes took to her account on the image-sharing platform to post a photo of herself kissing her husband as she stood with the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback on a field.
“Love this man,” Brittany Mahomes wrote in her accompanying caption, which she rounded out with a red heart emoji. As of press time, the photo has been liked more than 70,000 times.
However, while a number of fans showed their appreciation for Brittany Mahomes’ post, many others flooded the comments section with attacks on her athlete husband over his recent controversial post-game actions.
Following the Kansas City Chiefs’ 20-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Patrick Mahomes was caught on camera telling Bills quarterback Josh Allen that a controversial call by the officials was “f****** terrible” and “the wildest f****** call I’ve ever seen” as Allen patted his chest.

Brittany Mahomes was as angry as her husband, calling the officials “MVP” in an Instagram post.
The call in question was an offensive offsides against Kadarius Toney. Facing a second-and-10 late in the fourth quarter as the Chiefs tried to drive into field-goal range, Patrick Mahomes dropped back and found Travis Kelce for a 25-yard completion. Kelce then appeared to tack on an extra 24 yards with a lateral pass to Toney, who sprinted into the end zone for what would have been a go-ahead touchdown.
Instead, officials whistled Toney for lining up offsides, and after three straight incompletions by Patrick Mahomes, the game was effectively over.
While Patrick Mahomes later walked back his comments, a host of Instagram users appeared to have not forgiven him for his outburst as they flocked to his wife’s post to share their unflattering opinions on the star.
