Odell Beckham Jr. His highly anticipated debut with the Baltimore Ravens is just days away. The three-time Pro Bowl winner will now be on his fourth team in his nearly decade-long career.
However, on Thursday, OBJ ran into a major problem ahead of its scheduled launch.
NFL Network’s League Insider Tom Pelissero reported Thursday that Beckham suffered some type of ankle injury and was limited in practice as a result. The team reportedly added him to the injured list, which cast doubt on OBJ’s availability for Sunday’s Week 1 game against the Houston Texans.
It’s clearly a great year ahead for Beckham after missing all of last season with an ACL injury. The former Rookie of the Year spent all of last season recovering from knee surgery, and now that he’s getting a fresh start in Baltimore, the 30-year-old is clearly itching to leave. Needless to say, it would be really disappointing if he was forced to miss his first game with the Ravens due to injury.
OBJ has had his fair share of controversies over the years, and it looks like he’s stirring up another one. The former LSU star quickly took to Twitter following news of his injury. It seems Beckham is denying this information:
“
Believe everything on the internet…😭😎
,” Beckham wrote in his tweet.
It’s unclear exactly what the Baltimore receiver meant by his cryptic tweet. However, given the timing, this seems to be related to his latest injury news. We just don’t know what part of the report he’s trying to challenge here.
Naturally, OBJ’s mysterious tweet angered NFL Twitter:
There have clearly been mixed reactions to OBJ’s latest social media activity, which shows how polarizing Beckham has become among NFL fans. At this point, I guess we’ll just have to wait for an official update before we can determine OBJ’s status for Sunday’s season opener against the Texans.
