Novak Djokovic recently faced an unexpected defeat at the Indian Wells tournament, losing to Botic van de Zandschulp with scores of 6-2, 3-6, 6-1. This loss marks his third consecutive defeat, a streak not seen since 2018.

In his post-match comments, Djokovic candidly acknowledged his subpar performance, attributing it to a “bad day at the office.” He refrained from making excuses, stating, “I mean, it’s always something happening, but I don’t want to talk about it. I mean, obviously no excuses for a poor performance.”

Djokovic also highlighted challenges with the court conditions, noting that the ball’s bounce on the center court was unusually high, even more so than on some clay courts. He expressed difficulty in finding his rhythm under these circumstances.

Reflecting on his recent form, Djokovic admitted to struggling with his game, mentioning that he “just didn’t find myself at all on this court.” He emphasized the importance of accepting such outcomes, acknowledging that “tournaments like this happen.”

Despite these setbacks, Djokovic remains focused on future tournaments, aiming to analyze and improve his performance in the upcoming events.
