Tadej Pogačar continues to dominate the UCI World Ranking with an impressive lead over his closest rivals. As of September 2024, Pogačar holds an astonishing 11,393 points, more than double the points of second-place Remco Evenepoel, who has 5,297.6 points【21†source】【23†source】.

Pogačar’s dominance is attributed to his stellar performances throughout the season, including victories in prestigious races such as the Tour de France and the Giro d’Italia. His ability to consistently perform in both stage races and one-day classics has made him almost untouchable at the top of the rankings. Evenepoel, despite an impressive season that saw him win Liège-Bastogne-Liège and perform well in the Giro d’Italia, is still far behind Pogačar. He moved up to second place, surpassing Jonas Vingegaard, who now sits in third place【23†source】.

Other notable riders in the top five include Jasper Philipsen and Mathieu van der Poel, both of whom have had strong seasons but remain far behind Pogačar in points. The gap between Pogačar and the rest of the field is so large that it raises questions about whether anyone can challenge him in the near future【22†source】.

As the season progresses, it will be interesting to see if Evenepoel or other top contenders can close the gap, but for now, Pogačar remains firmly in control of the UCI ranking.
