Javier Guillén, the director of La Vuelta a España, has expressed optimism about the possibility of Tadej Pogačar participating in future editions of the race. While Pogačar has not committed to racing in the Vuelta in the short term, Guillén remains hopeful, citing a “great chance” that he will eventually make an appearance. During an interview, Guillén noted that although Pogačar had a 100% likelihood of skipping the 2024 Vuelta, this possibility has now shifted to a 1% chance of him participating. Guillén holds on to that slight hope, which he believes could change depending on Pogačar’s plans.

Guillén also emphasized the excitement surrounding other top riders expected at La Vuelta, such as Primož Roglič, Sepp Kuss, and Jonas Vingegaard, underscoring the unpredictable nature of the race. The potential addition of Pogačar would undoubtedly heighten the competition, further contributing to the Vuelta’s reputation for surprises.
