The most likely destination in the event of a trade has been identified as the New York Jets, which is not surprising given that they have been forced to start Zach Wilson at quarterback since Aaron Rodgers’ injury in Week 1.
Since Jimmy Garoppolo has fallen short of expectations through the first three weeks of the season, the Las Vegas Raiders have also been mentioned as a possible destination.
The Washington Commanders, however, are never brought up.
Of course, Kirk Cousins began his NFL career with the Washington team, first filling in for Robert Griffin III from 2012 to 2014 before taking over as the team’s primary starter in his fourth season.
For Washington, Cousins started at quarterback for three years, earning a spot in the Pro Bowl in 2016.
In March 2018, he later left in free agency to join the Vikings.
The Minnesota Vikings are 0-3 following Sunday’s crushing loss to the Los Angeles Chargers after going 11-0 in one-score contests in a charmed quest to the NFC North throne in 2022.
There is currently a 99 percent chance the Vikings won’t make the playoffs when taking into account a sample size dating back to the most recent expansion in 2002.
If the team keeps underwhelming prior to the trade deadline on October 31, getting something in return for Kirk Cousins rather than letting him walk in free agency for nothing might seem like the better choice for the organization.
