Green Bay Packers Fans’ Reactions to Re-Signing Former Teammate Ahead of Kansas City Chiefs Matchup

By | November 30, 2023

As the Packers aim to reach a .500 record in Week 12, they are set to face Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football at Lambeau Field. The Chiefs (8-3) are competing for the top seed in the AFC, while the Packers (5-6) are just one spot away from securing the final wild card spot in the NFC.

In anticipation of this crucial matchup, the Packers opted to re-sign a familiar face.

The Green Bay Packers Re-Sign Running Back James Robinson Prior To Matchup With The Kansas City Chiefs

To fortify their offensive lineup, the Packers brought back James Robinson, who had previously spent three weeks with the Packers’ practice squad earlier in the season. He was once again signed to their practice squad ahead of the game against Detroit. Additionally, running back Patrick Taylor, released by Green Bay earlier in the season, was signed to their 53-man roster from the New England Patriots’ practice squad.

The Packers also bolstered their wide receiver depth by promoting Bo Melton from the practice squad. Melton, a seventh-round draft pick by the Seattle Seahawks in 2022, joined Green Bay in December of the previous season. Despite not making the team after training camp this year, he earned a spot on their practice squad.

This isn’t the first time the Packers have re-signed James Robinson this season, and fans have taken notice.
