GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Packers will once again be without one of their top receivers when they take on the New York Giants on Monday night. Christian Watson was ruled out with a hamstring injury.
Watson, who ranks first on the Packers in receiving yards-per-game, hauled in seven catches for 71 yards and two touchdowns during last week’s win over the Kansas City Chiefs. However, he had to be helped off the field after going down late in the fourth quarter.
This is not Watson’s first brush with the injury bug this season. He missed the first three games of the year after picking up a hamstring injury during the preseason.
Through nine games this year, Watson has hauled in 28 catches on 53 targets for 422 yards and five touchdowns.
Jaire Alexander, Aaron Jones, Darnell Savage and Eric Stokes were all listed as questionable on Saturday, and Quay Walker was listed as doubtful.
Alexander (shoulder) and Jones (knee) have been nursing injuries for several weeks, but have still appeared in games. Jones was kept out of the Packers’ last two games, but had played in five consecutive games before that.
Alexander, Jones and Savage (chest) were all limited in practice on Saturday. Stokes (hamstring) was a full participant in practice all week.
The Packers will travel to MetLife for a Monday night showdown against the New York Giants at 7:15 p.m. CT. The Giants are struggling this season with a 4-8 record, but are riding a two-game winning streak heading into Monday’s game.
