FLYING HIGH JetBlue announces new baggage rule that’s good news for ‘basic economy’ passengers:

JetBlue has recently introduced a new baggage rule that benefits passengers traveling on its Basic Economy fare, known as Blue Basic. This update allows Blue Basic customers to bring a full-sized carry-on bag, in addition to a personal item, without incurring additional fees. Previously, Blue Basic passengers were only permitted a personal item that fit under the seat in front of them, with any larger carry-on requiring a fee or mandatory checking at the gate.

This change aligns JetBlue’s policy more closely with those of other major airlines, enhancing the appeal of its basic fare option. The carry-on bag must adhere to the standard size restrictions (22 x 14 x 9 inches) and fit in the overhead bin. Personal items, such as a backpack, purse, or laptop bag, must fit under the seat.

The revised policy offers significant savings and convenience for budget-conscious travelers, eliminating the need to check bags or pay extra fees for carry-on luggage. It also streamlines the boarding process, as passengers can now confidently bring their carry-ons without worry of additional costs. This customer-friendly adjustment highlights JetBlue’s commitment to improving the travel experience and providing greater value to its passengers.
