In Week 3 of the 2023 NFL season, a former Green Bay Packers starting linebacker made his retirement official. The decision was made after the Buffalo Bills’ third-round draft pick from 2014 was forced to serve on the practice squad this year.
Christian Kirksey reportedly made his retirement plans known, according to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network.
During his nine-year NFL career, he made 778 tackles, generated 16 point five sacks, and made seven interceptions.
During the 2020 offseason, Kirksey inked a two-year contract with the Green Bay Packers.
In 2020, he made 11 starts for the Packers, but a pectoral injury caused him to miss part of the season.
When playing for the Packers, Kirksey made a total of 77 tackles, four passes were intercepted, two passes were defended, and two sacks.
In the off-season of 2021, the Packers let Kirksey go.
