In his Sunday matchup with Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore, Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander emerged victorious.
The moment Moore addressed the media in the Green Bay locker room following their 38-20 victory at Soldier Field, Alexander even disparaged Moore.
“Yeah, it was very quiet for him.
According to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, Alexander reacted angrily when informed that Moore only managed 25 receiving yards on two receptions.
“I don’t know if anybody thought anything else was gonna happen,” Alexander said.
The Bears’ Justin Fields-led offense gained 311 total yards, but was successfully slowed down by Alexander and the Packers’ defense.
However, the Bears only converted 3-of-13 third downs and committed two turnovers. Alexander recorded a pass breakup in addition to his three total tackles for the game.
When the Bears wide receiver shoved Alexander to the ground at one point in the game, he and Moore got into a fight.
Given that Chicago entered the 2023 NFL regular season viewing Moore as a significant downfield weapon for Fields, he can’t be pleased with the numbers he put up against the Packers. Instead, Moore found it difficult to find his rhythm while the Packers did throughout the entire game.
Jordan Love completed 15 of 27 passes for 245 passing yards and three touchdowns.
The team’s leading receiver, running back Aaron Jones, led Green Bay with 86 receiving yards and a touchdown on two catches and four targets while also leading the team in the air with 41 rushing yards and a touchdown on nine carries.
In Week 2’s away game against the Atlanta Falcons, the Packers will try to maintain their winning streak.
