Lukas Van Ness, a rookie for the Green Bay Packers, should be able to play against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday after leaving last week’s game early due to an elbow injury.
The Packers’ first-round pick in 2023, Van Ness, received good news after undergoing some tests earlier this week.
He appears to have avoided a serious injury, even though he was limited in practice on Wednesday.
Wes Hodkiewicz quoted Van Ness as saying, “Of course, it’s always a relief.”.
I simply received a minor injury there.
Once more, take things day by day, but you should be good to go.
“.
Van Ness didn’t take long to make an impression in his NFL debut, recording his first career sack in a Packers victory over the Chicago Bears on his ninth professional snap.
In his brief appearance last week against the Atlanta Falcons, he added two tackles, one of which was for a loss.
He was on the field for just 18 defensive snaps.
Van Ness’ athletic build and elite speed as an edge rusher during the pre-draft process attracted a lot of teams to him, so the Packers took a slight risk with him.
Though he has already put up respectable numbers and Green Bay appears to be pleased with how he has adjusted to the NFL.
To keep Lukas Van Ness off the field, much more than just an elbow bruise will be required.
The Packers’ first home game of the season, against the New Orleans Saints, is on Sunday, so he should be there.
